KSAMC conducts river training exercise on Chalkie River

The Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation  (KSAMC) is currently conducting a river training exercise in the Chalkie River and along the banks of the river in Nine Miles, Bull Bay, St Andrew.

It is part of the KSAMC's efforts to protect the residents of Bull Bay and surrounding areas from the river, which overflowed its banks amid heavy rains on Sunday.

The water threatened the homes of residents, but subsided Monday, when there was an ease in the downpour. It caused no major damage or casualty.

River training refers to the structural measures which are taken to improve a river and its banks.
