Carnival Planning

We are now approaching the 2026 Carnival season, and will once again host the carnival road marches of theparticipating bands, bringing energy, culture to Kingston and St Andrew.

The KSAMC has been actively engaging with carnival stakeholders, including carnival bands and watch-party promoters, to ensurethat all activities are conducted in a safe, organised, and compliant manner.

The Corporation is now in receipt of all the routes for the various carnival bands and J’ouvert marches, and these are currently being reviewed by the relevant teams, namely the Enforcement, Road and Works, Disaster Management and Compliance teams.

The deadline for applications for carnival-related events was March 6, 2026, and the Corporation is presently processing the applications received.

Garbage management will again be a key focus this year. The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has been engaged, and all event applications will be shared with them to ensure that they are satisfied with the proposed arrangements for the collection and proper disposalof waste. Then and only then will these applications be approved, providing applications meet all other requirements.

We must avoid a repeat of previous years when sections of the city were left littered and public and private infrastructure were defaced. We therefore urge all promoters, participants, and members of the public to play their part in keeping our city clean during the carnival season.  The KSAMC is urging all participants to conduct themselves in a responsible manner.
