Cleaner Kingston

As part of the KSAMC's Cleaner Kingston initiative, our team focused its attention on Beckford Street. The street was washed and sanitized. The road was marked to indicate where vending is allowed so as not to disrupt the free flow of traffic along the road. Drain cleaning and maintenance were also carried out to improve water flow and reduce the accumulation of debris. We also made contact with the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) to address street lighting deficiencies and the NWC regarding the management of sewage in the area.

On May 17, the team will shift its attention to Heywood Street, and New Chapel Lane on May 24. When that is completed, they will move to Barry, Tower and Pechon Street, where they will continue washing and sanitizing streets and clearing drains. The JPS and NWC will be invited back to assist with whatever deficiencies may exist in those areas.

The KSAMC remains committed to preserving public order, ensuring safer and more accessible public spaces, and fostering a cleaner, more organized municipality for all residents, businesses, and visitors.
