KSAMC Leads Inter-agency Inspection at Fort Rocky ahead of Good Times Event
The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), in collaboration with key regulatory agencies, conducted a site inspection today at Fort Rocky in preparation for the highly anticipated GoodTimes event scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025.
KSAMC CEO Robert Hill and senior officers of the Corporation were joined by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michelle Campbell, Commanding Officer for Kingston Eastern and Port Royal (Jamaica Constabulary Force), as well as District Officer Kwesi Osbourne and representatives from the Jamaica Fire Brigade. The inspection aimed to assess compliance with all regulatory requirements before final event approvals are granted.
During the site visit, minor deviations from the approved plans were identified. These concerns were addressed with the event promoter, who has committed to implementing the recommended adjustments to ensure full compliance. Discussions focused on patron safety, emergency response protocols, and traffic management.
To facilitate orderly parking, it was confirmed that patrons must park at designated locations—the Port Royal Cruise Ship Pier and the Civil Aviation parking lots—before being shuttled to the venue. No general parking will be permitted at Fort Rocky, with exceptions made only for production crew and a limited number of dignitaries.
DSP Campbell reaffirmed that strict security and traffic management measures will be enforced. “Absolutely no parking will be allowed on the roadways. The Jamaica Constabulary Force has activated its traffic enforcement protocols, and illegally parked vehicles will be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense,” she stated.
Additionally, representatives from the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) were present, conducting independent assessments, including aerial drone inspections.
Further site visits will be conducted leading up to tomorrow’s event to ensure all compliance measures are met.
