We mourn the passing of a distinguished psychiatrist, public servant, and former head of the Bellevue Hospital. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Irons championed improved patient care, mental health advocacy, and professional excellence. His service extended beyond clinical practice to leadership roles within the medical profession, including service as President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, as well as contributions to a number of public and private institutions.

His work earned the respect of colleagues locally, regionally, and internationally, and his influence on the development of mental health services will be felt for years to come.
