Summary of Duties
Maintain a clean and organized office space and general surroundings.

Qualifications and Experience
·       Education up the level of grade 9 or above

·       Ability to read and write

·       Ability to communicate effectively with others

·       Knowledge cleaning techniques

·       Knowledge and usage of various cleaning agents and tools

Main Duties:

1)         Dusting of furniture and office equipment

2)         Disinfecting hard floor/tiled areas

3)         Emptying waste bins, wash as needed and add new liners

4)         Use of glass cleaner to wipe down all glass areas

5)         Damp-wiping of hard surfaces with mild disinfectant

6)         Cleaning walls and painted surfaces as needed

7)         Washing of kitchen sink, bathroom sink(s) and toilet(s)

8)         Wiping down door handles, light switches, baseboards and windows

9)         Cobwebbing corners, ceilings etc.

10)       Fill soap dispenser, replace toilet tissue and hand towel holders

11)       Cleaning kitchen appliances

12)       Cleaning refrigerator as needed

13)       Watering in-house plants/flowers

14)       Any other related duties assigned from time to time

Telephone Operator

Summary of Duties:

Operate the KSAMC’s telephone system/switchboard to direct incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls.  Take accurate messages where appropriate.

Core Responsibilities

1.  Be the first point of contact for inbound calls and queries

2. Maintain a response rate in terms of answering calls within three (3) rings

3. Prepare and maintain records of outbound calls

4. Establish and maintain efficient working relationships with supervisors/managers, co- workers and callers

5. Identify telephone system failures and report same promptly to your Supervisor

6. Maintain a clean and well organized work area

7. Provide information to the public relating to the services offered by the KSAC

Planning Officer

Summary of Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Planning, the Planning Officer assists in facilitating the sustainable development of the Municipality in accordance with the appropriates statues, regulation, by-laws and policies such as, Town and Country Planning Act, Building Act, Control of Advertisement Regulation, Local Improvement Act, Developers and Investment Manual etc.

Core Responsibilities

a. Attending meetings with government agencies and other stakeholders as a representative of the Director of Planning and/or the Council.

b. Attending committee meetings, forums etc. and when required make representation on planning matters, provide guidance and respond to queries.

c. Liaising with the public on matters related to proposed development of land or applications that are being processed, provide advice and guidance.

d. Promoting customer-focused practices and standards; execute duties that facilitate the achievement of service performance targets.

e. Processing applications for subdivisions, planning and building approval, advertisements and restrictive covenants, including checking validity; undertake consultations, site visits and negotiate on matters relating to development.

f. Preparing draft reports and make recommendations to the Director of Planning, key stakeholders and other persons on planning and development matters.

g. Assisting with enforcement of Planning controls and regulations by investigating and preparing breach reports; being the primary witness at court hearings and enforcement matters.

h. Utilizing the AMANDA to process development applications

i. Updating of data related to the Local Sustainable Development Plan; collaborate with Ministries, agencies and other stakeholders on matters relating to development plans.

j. Collaborating with other technical officers and team members (e.g. City Engineer, building and planning officers) on planning and development related matters.

k. Performing any other duty assigned by the Director of Planning. From time to time in the exigencies of the service

Qualification and Experience
► A Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban & Regional Planning / Geography

► Must have sound knowledge of the various development application processes
►    Experience in interpreting maps, subdivisions, building plans and other spatial         plans.
►    At least one (1) year related experience in a similar field

Salary: $1,593,000 - $1,890,000 per annum
Motor Vehicle Upkeep Allowance: $894,924 per annum
(The holder of this position is required to possess of a valid driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle).
