The  Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has embarked on a series of intensive training programmes geared towards resensitizing its Municipal Police Officers and Security staff on their roles and functions as enforcement officers.

The  goal is to enhance the  capacity and skills of the officers including improving their handling of conflicts and generally to create greater empathy and better interpersonal relations with members of the public- particularly vendors.

The lecturers which include role playing to simulate likely scenarios on the street, are being led by the Council’s municipal commandant Mr. Dwayne Anderson, with special presentations by other senior security experts.

Chief Executive Officer at the KSAMC, Mr. Robert H.P. Hill, JP, notes that since the lectures and training sessions have been held, measurable improvements have been noted among the target staff categories.
